Lee Phillips, Ed.D. is in private practice in New York, NY, and McLean, VA, where he specializes in sex and couples therapy. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and New York. Dr. Phillips is a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. He is a Certified Sex and Couples Therapist (CSCT) by the Integrative Sex Therapy Institute and a Certified Psychosexual Therapist (C-PST) by the International Association of Psychosexual Therapists. He has been in private practice for over a decade, working with individuals and couples.He lectures on topics including sexuality, chronic pain, anxiety, stress management, caregiving stress, depression in the elderly, mindfulness and cognitive strategies for chronic pain, reclaiming sexuality for couples with chronic illness, ethical decision-making, the assessment of mental disorders, therapy with LGBTQIA+ clients, and exploring sexual communication, freedom, and pleasure for gender minorities with chronic illness, pain, and other disabilities. He has published in the Journal of Baccalaureate Social Work, conducting a research study on LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Teaching at Historically Black Colleges and Universities: Understanding Program Directors Views.Dr. Phillips is a media expert and has been featured in Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health, The Lily Newspaper, Giddy, Greatist, Insider, Men’s Health, InsideHook, AskMen, Social Life Magazine, Park Magazine, Yahoo News, Well + Good, Oprah Daily, Fatherly, MindBodyGreen, PsychCentral, verywellmind, HealthCentral, Bustle, BestLife, Martha Stewart, and many more. He has been a guest on several podcasts and training platforms discussing sex and relationships, including Sessions with world-renowned psychotherapist Esther Perel. Dr. Phillips is writing his first book, Better Dating, Better Mating: How to Get Curious About Your Lover and Creative with Your Sex, which helps people gain awareness of how to experience joy and pleasure with their body and their partners and to remove anxiety and pressure by developing self-confidence in making dating fun and discovering ways to create the ideal relationship.He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Behavioral Health from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Phillips is an instructor at The Integrative Sex Therapy Institute and an instructor and dissertation chair at Modern Sex Therapy Institutes.
